Hermès La Promenade de Longchamps Carré 90 Twill Scarf

A classic expression of Hermès' equestrian heritage, the La Promenade de Longchamps Carré 90 was designed by celebrated Hermès artist Philippe Ledoux and first issued in 1965. The composition depicts an elegant gathering of horse-drawn carriages, riders and finely dressed figures at Longchamp, capturing the sophistication of 19th-century Parisian equestrian society. 

Presented with a rich royal blue border, ivory centre and warm gold, green, brown and orange accents, the design is framed by elaborate scrolling foliage and animal motifs. At its centre, a circular medallion depicts an elegant encounter between riders and a horse-drawn carriage, surrounded by further equestrian scenes and carriage details. The LEDOUX signature is incorporated into the central illustration, while the title LA PROMENADE DE LONGCHAMPS appears within its decorative cartouche.

Whether worn around the neck, styled over the hair, tied to a handbag or framed as artwork, this vintage carré is a beautiful example of Hermès' longstanding tradition of equestrian-inspired silk design.
