A striking piece of vintage Chanel jewellery, this Lion and Sun Brooch dates from approximately 1980 and is crafted in richly textured gold-tone metal.

The sculptural design centres on a beautifully detailed lion’s head, framed by curling mane-like elements and a dramatic border of radiating sun rays. Rope-effect edging and an intentionally textured finish give the brooch depth and character, reflecting the bold, opulent aesthetic associated with Chanel jewellery of the period.

The reverse is finished with a traditional pin-and-clasp fastening and the Chanel signature mark.

A highly collectible statement brooch combining two enduring Chanel motifs: the lion, closely associated with Gabrielle Chanel, and the radiant sun.
