Chanel Vintage Black Caviar Timeless CC Flap Wallet

The Chanel Vintage Timeless CC Flap Wallet is a classic small leather good from the House, crafted in durable black grained caviar leather with an oversized stitched interlocking CC motif across the front flap. The compact bifold construction is finished with a press-stud closure and opens to a black leather and fabric-lined interior with practical compartments for cards, notes and coins.

This example retains its original Chanel serial sticker, number 2948669, and comes with its original Chanel box, as photographed. The serial places the wallet firmly within Chanel's early-1990s production and the Karl Lagerfeld era.

Condition

Excellent condition.

The black caviar leather presents exceptionally well for its age, retaining its characteristic grain, structure and deep black colour. The edges and corners show very little wear.

There is some natural creasing to the leather on the inside of the flap and a small indentation to the interior, consistent with the wallet's age and careful use. This is visible in the photographs.

Chanel's 2-series serial numbers are associated with production from approximately 1991–1994, placing this wallet in the early 1990s. 

The wallet was produced during Karl Lagerfeld's tenure as Chanel's creative director. Lagerfeld led Chanel from 1983 until 2019 and was responsible for extensively reworking and amplifying the House's visual codes, including the interlocking CC as a prominent design motif.

The photographs show several details consistent with a genuine vintage Chanel wallet of this period: the 2-series 2948669 serial sticker, its period-appropriate format, the Chanel interior stamp with interlocking CC, the highly textured caviar leather, the large stitched CC construction and Chanel-marked press-stud hardware.
